Alexia Frendo’s appointment on the council of Malta’s foremost employers’ entity is not only an unprecedented first for HR Connect, but for the iGaming industry as a whole. Such valuable recognition of the sector, which is ultimately one of the country’s leading employers will certainly pave the way for better and more fruitful interaction both within the industry, as well as with other leading organisations.
Alexia Frendo, B.Psy (Hons.) Malta, M.Sc (Rome) is an organizational psychologist who has worked in the HR sphere both in Malta and abroad. Currently a Global HRBP within the Kindred Group plc, Alexia brings a wealth of experience to her new role within the MEA.
Commenting on this unprecedented appointment, Alexia said, “I am humbled that my colleagues have nominated me to be part of the MEA group. It means a lot, not only on a personal level but also to our industry. It is definitely a tool to help the industry be part of important conversations such as talent and skill gaps and be at the forefront while impacting important decision-making through our feedback, as well as looking forward to collaborating with other professionals outside our industry.”
HR Connect was initially launched with the aim of bringing iGaming HR professionals closer together to further learn, network and solve practical challenges arising within the industry as well as growing the association into a valuable networking tool well beyond the industry itself. To this end Alexia Frendo’s role within the MEA sets the stage for the fulfilling of that aim.
HR Connect Head and founding member, Heidi Lofthus remarked, “I am delighted and very proud having had all my HR Connect members actively nominate Alexia Frendo from Kindred Group to the MEA board. That sends a clear message of the cooperation value and impact we have within our association. With this we now have an iGaming representative for the first time in MEA which will enable us further insight and put us in the forefront to discuss any white paper, processes that that need altering and also raise awareness on current and important topics.”
The Malta Employers Association is Malta’s leading organisation which primarily endeavours to regulate the relations between employers, workers and trade unions and therefore decisively influences the formation of policies at national level.
MEA Director General, Mr Joseph Farrugia, while commenting on Alexia Frendo’s appointment as council member representing the iGaming industry said, “We are pleased to have on board Alexia Frendo as a member of the council of the Malta Employers’ Association. Alexia’s extensive experience in Human Resources Management, together with her involvement in the iGaming sector, is a welcome asset to the Association.”
